Though the author of the book, Things Fall Apart, is dead, Chinua Achebe, his work still speaks for him even in the land of the death. Things Fall Apart was written by a wise and great Nigerian author whom many men of good reputations attended his burial ceremony in the recent time.


What is Things Fall Apart All About?

The main character in the book is a man called Okonkwo.Things Fall Apart tells two intertwining stories, both centering on Okonkwo, a “strong man” of a tribe known as Igbo in Nigeria, Weast Africa, Africa. Igbo was know for strong traditional believe.




The first part of the novel, a powerful fable of the immemorial conflict between the individual and society, traces Okonkwo’s fall from grace with the tribal world. The second, as modern as the first is ancient, concerns the clash of cultures and the destruction of Okonkwo's world with the arrival of aggressive European missionaries.
